Just a quick update to let you all know that we just had the ultrasound and we got to see a tiny heart beating!
The tech thought the little bean was measuring around 7 weeks 4 days, which is very slightly further along than even I calculated (strictly “by the book” I’m at 6 weeks 4 days, but I performed some complicated machinations based on last menstrual period adjusted for cycle length but unknown ovulation day). The tech said that at this point even 1mm makes a big difference to the age estimate. He was having a hard time getting the little blob on screen because s/he is so tiny at this point (I think I saw 13.9mm on the chart) and he was pushing hard to make it visible. My abdomen’s actually sore now from the prodding, but it’s a small price to pay for the relief of seeing that heart beat.
