i agree with you; its important to get the pox and its great she’s getting them so young. though for me, when i got them, i was unable to go camping with the boy scouts that weekend (i was allowed to go because the leader was female and my dad was a leader) and as you can imagine, IT DEVASTATED ME!!!! i know you know what i’m talking about fawn, having been (or being) boy crazy like i was (is?)!

meanwhile, on a separate note, i CAN’T believe they vaccinate against that stuff now! we’ve refused the MMR vaccinations for maggie and are 100% happy with our decision! jenny mccarthy showed a chart on larry king that showed something like “20 years ago, we had 10 vaccines, today we have 32… WHY?” i love her crusading to teach the world about vaccine accidents and autism. she’s my new hero…

Okay, so I looked it up and they were used for buildings, as well. And apparently Japan was the first to use them. And yellow is the international colour for quarantine.

Although the solid yellow and yellow/black flags ARE the official maritime flags.

Hmmmm… Yellow, the international colour of quarantine?… I think I’ll have to pull that factoid out of my hat the next time a client wants to slap an icky shade of bright yellow up on their walls. (BTW, I’m not talking about Chelle’s yellow. That’s a lovely shade, fitting with the period of their house.)

Fine – make me come read your blog! As far as I know, those flags only applied to ships (specifically in Great Britian), but I could be wrong. I am, however, fairly sure that the current, international flag for quarantine is yellow and black, while solid yellow means the captain guarantees that the ship is “healthy”.

So, please, don’t put up a yellow flag. Because you might just wind up with a torch-bearing mob banging down your door…
