I found your blog through another Yukon blog, not Michael’s.

I read it once a week mainly for the northern news more than the mommy news, alho that is pretty exciting and interesting also.

No I am not a blogger. That is not part of my genetic makeup. The information highway and its poyential (while I use it extensively for my own personal, professional and research purposes) scares me immensely. All that big brother collecting data stuff. I wonder when computers will become self aware!!

Well, thanks very much for indulging me this time; I very much appreciate it! I never thought of my blog as a source of northern news. Except perhaps a report on the weather. Yep, it’s definitely fall in the Yukon.

What kinds of posts do you like to read? All of it, really. And I happen to have a son very close in age to Jade and a new baby on the way, so of course the parenting/pregnancy posts feel very relevant to me.

Are you a blogger? I have an msn space. Haven’t really grown up into a full fledged blogger, but would like to…maybe on this mat leave?

I really enjoyed visiting your blog — I hope you do find a way to become a full-fledged blogger, because I think you’d be great! And we have lots in common with the two kids and dogs with allergies. Hope to see you around commenting again!

Hi Beth! I don’t think I remember seeing a comment from you before, so welcome and thanks so much for delurking. I think you’re the third former Guiding/Scouting friend of Michael’s to make your way here; with all this good company, I know I really missed something by never being involved in Scouts myself.

Can’t remember how I found your blog – but I guess it was when I searched on Yukon or something like that.

I enjoy reading everything, but recipes on cookies leave me cold since I’m the worst baker there is! I might as well use the oven to store Tupperware since I use it so seldom.

Lurker, non-lurker — I’m just thrilled to see everyone here! I like the image of storing Tupperware in the oven, though perhaps you might put pots and pans in instead, so that the consequences are less terrible if it accidentally gets turned on. I’ll try to make sure my recipe posts include a good mix of non-baking.

I love all of your posts- I don’t have a category preference. Actually, I had you in my reader but it never showed that you had new posts. Isn’t it crazy that we talk more often online than in person, considering we live a 10-minute drive away from each other? These kids are crampin’ our social lives.

I found your blog through Mike’s. I knew him in Ottawa from Guiding/Scouting as well as our first year of University. One day, he wrote something like “there’s no point in my writing it when my wife has already done it here” and then linked to you. I’ve been hooked ever since.

I enjoy hearing about your family and it’s interesting to see how our lives are different, yet so much the same, when you live so far away. I also enjoy the “mommy moments”, because I have them all too often.

And like Susan, I was sick with worry when Jade started having seizures. I even emailed a friend in Vancouver when you wrote that blog to your godparents about Mike being alone in the hospital. I don’t know what ever happened, but Doug set out with a box of granola bars at some point that day. I never heard what happened after that…

Oh, Suzanne!!! I’m so sorry we never acknowledged that! I don’t think we actually saw Doug; we got the granola bars (though I seem to remember pretzels, too??) through a nurse who said the guy told her we had a mutual friend in Ottawa named “Sue”. Michael immediately thought of his friend Garrett’s mom Sue because we’d been in touch with her about Garrett’s childhood epilepsy. She must’ve been so darned confused about the thank you e-mail we sent her! So thank YOU for your guardian angel ways!!! Thanks for caring that much. And thanks for reading.
