On Saturday I thought my nose was running because of the kitties I was petting at the pet store, but it’s still going today, and so I must face the reality that I have a cold. Curses!
This didn’t prevent me from having a terrific Sunday. We had beautiful weather – 25 degrees and sunny. Michael and I started the day by giving the house a good scrubbing (that wasn’t the fun part) in preparation for our dinner guests in the evening. In the afternoon, we loaded a bunch of junk into our car and drove to the community hall (across the street) for a community rummage sale. Our pile of "junk" shrank by about half and we made about $50 to boot! After that, we headed out to Hay Lake, where a bunch of our friends were having a cook-out. We stayed only long enough to say hello before we had to come home to get ready for our own dinner.
Steaks from the barbecue, corn on the cob, roasted potatoes, and fresh organic salad, polished off with with white lemonade and gales of laughter, and served in the coolness of our renovated gazebo – what a great way to spend the evening. Valerie brougt her daughter Dominique, who just turned 9, and Crystal and Derek brought their 7-month-old daughter Fiona. Michael got a big kick out of playing with baby. Crystal said, "It’ll be so fun when you finally get your baby!", which made everyone laugh and make jokes about orders from Home Outfitters and ExpressPost delivery. (Hold the rumours – I’m not pregnant!)
It’s just the start of those perfect summer days . .

Awww…. has oo got the sniffoos? Mike better nurse you back to health. Or he\’ll have me to contend with. Arrr…By the way… since when are you 27?? Not for another 7 months, m\’dear!
I\’m 27 because the MSN profile feature allows one to put down only the year in which one is born. It\’s not MY fault my birthday\’s in November. Are you really suggesting I should falsify my birth year just to make my profile appear more accurate? Shame, shame. (I\’ll think about it.)
Oops. I just checked again, and you CAN put in your birthday, after all. Strange how my eyes skipped right over that part. Hurray! I can stay 26 for a few more months!
