Small pleasures of life

15 Nov
I’ve been so busy at work, and the realization that November is half over, December is half-shot because of Christmas, and the baby could come early (in the middle of January) has me in an almost-panic.  Why couldn’t I have had some of this stuff to do back in July and August when I was bored to tears and spending a heck of a lot of time surfing the Internet?
As such, there is not much of a cohesive story to my life these days.  I mean, I could tell you about all the projects I’m working on, but I think that would fall into the category of blog postings like, "…and then I woke up, and then I went to the bathroom, and then I stayed in there some more because the ‘Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader was just soooo funny’…"  But maybe that’s actually entertaining?
Anyway, I had several unrelated moments of pleasure or hilarity today.
1. A slice of fresh banana bread first thing this morning; I tried a new recipe last night that included coconut, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.  Mmmm.  Oh yeah.
2. A quick checkup at the dentist where I was told I have really nice teeth.  Yay!  Also enjoyed the green eyes; this is important in a dentist, since you don’t get to see his/her face most of the time.  (Don’t worry, honey, they’re nothin’ on your baby blues.)
3. Nemmy messaged me and told me she was transferring money into our bank account; she made a collection from a few folks and so we’re getting the baby’s crib as a gift!  Thank you!!!
4. My co-worker introduced me to a woman who works in another part of the building.  She started by telling me how much she like my name (though I never did get hers), then interrupted herself to put her hand on my bulging belly and stare blissfully into space as she rubbed it.
And that’s the end of my random thoughts for the day.  Well, not really, but at least the end of the ones I’m putting on the blog.
