‘Tis the season to be busy

12 Dec
When I first moved to Whithorse, there was lots to get done in terms of unpacking and getting to know the city, but I still somehow found the time to read a few books every week.  This month has been absolutely nuts, and we’re already in the middle of it.  I haven’t been to the library in weeks!

I spent the weekend working on our Christmas newsletter and cards, and so I didn’t do the other things on my To Do list, such as laundry, weatherproofing the bedroom windows, getting my baby scrapbook started.  On the bright side, I’ve got about 100 cards ready to go to the post office sometime this morning.

It’s going to be another busy week.  My office Christmas party (a potluck) is on Thursday, and I’m organizing a bit of musical entertainment for that.  Plus we have prenatal classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings; one of the other moms suggested someone different bring goodies each night (she brought cookies and oranges last week), so I feel like I ought to make something to bring to one of them.  We have another doctor’s appointment this week, and I have a work project deadline on Friday.  Eek!  Good thing I booked a massage for after work on Friday afternoon.

Michael had a busy weekend, too.  Between judging at a science fair, taking Nanuq for a long walk, going out with our neighbour Michael W. who was setting rabbit snares, and then actually finding two snares with rabbits in them (necessitating some experimentation on how best to skin them, since Michael W. wasn’t around), he had quite a bit of activity going on!  Hmm, after making rabbit stew for dinner tonight, maybe I should get him to bake some cookies for our class tomorrow…
