New Year’s Resolutions?

3 Jan
I’ve never really been one to make New Year’s resolutions, but I love hearing what others plan to change!

It constantly amazes me what changes can happen in such a short time, without even trying to change things.  Actually, I think a much more amusing activity than making resolutions is to make predictions.  A year ago today, I never would have imagined that I would be spending January 1st of 2006 in Whitehorse.  And I probably would have been surprised to know that I would be having a baby in such a short time!

Michael and I intended to make this our new New Year’s tradition; to sit down and make some predictions for the upcoming year.  (And I mean real predictions, not just, "I’ll be a year older" type predictions.)  It came up a few weeks ago when Michael told me he thought Mike and Nemmy would get engaged in Germany.  I poo-poohed the idea that it would happen so quickly, and so he revised his prediction to say that it would happen within the year.  Well, we all know that they did in fact get engaged in Germany, so Michael gets double points for being right.

We forgot all about making predictions at New Year’s, so I guess it’s a tradition we’ll have to begin next year, but here’s a cheater’s start.  The following prediction would fall in the "not allowed because it’s too obvious" category:  in about two months, I’m going to wish I could get more sleep.
