Getting ready for baby

6 Jan

In other news, the baby’s crib mattress and car seat (which should have arrived on Monday) have finally come in at Sears, so we’ll probably pick those up on the way home today.  Michael’s gung ho on installing the car seat right away (we’ll have it checked by a specialist, too) and I have to say I share his enthusiasm!  I’m also looking forward to putting the mattress in the crib (and making sure it’s a good fit) and getting it looking ready to receive a baby!

I put a "Wanted" ad in our local paper so I’m hoping we might find a dresser soon.  I think I’ll need one more shelf for having diaper supplies at the ready, and order some blinds for the window, and then the baby’s room will be done!  I’d like to put something on the wall on the crib side of the room for decoration, but I don’t really want to spend any money doing this.  We were originally going to put the moose shelf along the top of that wall, but I was worried that some of the smaller moose might fall off the shelf into the crib and create a choking hazard.  I’ve read that it’s not a good idea to put anything breakable there, either.  I could hang a blanket, but the only really nice ones we have I want to actually use!  Any ideas out there?

Have Mike paint a mural. Tell him it\’s to be done by noon on Saturday, lest it turn into some gigantic project.

The mural\’s a great idea – but none of Michael\’s weird fantasy monsters, dragons, etc.! How about moose in the mountains?
