Michael went to band practice last night while I went to visit a friend who is recovering from surgery at the hospital.  When I got home, the message light was blinking on the answering machine.  A couple of teachers in Fort Liard have been discussing buying our house there; we hadn’t heard from them in a few days, but the message asked me to call them.  I thought they had some more questions about insurance, but it turns out they had decided that they weren’t ready to buy the house yet and had decided to simply continue living in the house they’re currently renting.
I was so disappointed that I really had to struggle not to cry as I took Nanuq for an evening stroll – frozen eyelashes would have been no fun!  I was so sure that something was finally going to happen with the house and the timing couldn’t have been better, since I’ll have no income but EI in a few weeks.
Michael was pretty bummed about the news, too, but he took it better than I thought he would.  I don’t know if he was just trying to make me feel better, but he was pretty stoic.  We have enough looming ahead of us without adding to the stress, so I’m grateful to him for being tough enough for both of us!

Sorry you\’re stressed… I wish I could buy the house from you… maybe Mike wants a "summer home"… 😛 Anyway… hugs and love from us both.
