The rubber glove exchange

18 Oct
I use rubber gloves when washing dishes.  This allows me to use the hottest water possible so that no icky germies are left on them (I hope) and keeps the skin on my hands into turning from leather.  At least, they turn to leather more slowly than they otherwise would.

The trouble is, one glove eventually gets punctured.  And since I am right-handed, it inevitably is the right-hand glove that gets punctured.  Of course, when one buys rubber gloves, one buys then in pairs.  And so, I have a lot of left-handed rubber gloves sitting around uselessly.

Sometimes I have wished that those rubber-glove companies would get it together and sell gloves singly.  But then they would probably just charge the same as they would for a whole pair, so that probably wouldn’t be a thrifty solution.  I know that Marian simply turns her left-handed gloves inside-out, which transforms them into right-hand gloves.  But I had putting them on with the rubbery coating turned in because they’re so hard to get off that way.

What I really need is to find a left-handed person who wears size medium rubber gloves who has the same dilemma as I have — only the opposite, of course.

Anyone out there have left-hand rubber gloves to trade?

What better opportunity to 1) affix extra rubber glove to head, 2) insert thumbs into underarms, 3) bob head and scratch at floor while crying 4) MOO! MOO! MOO! 5) I mean, BAWK BAWK BUKKUUUKKKK!

Love the idea! But there are too many of us right handed folk out there and not enough lefties. Why don’t the rubber glove companies make packs of right handed gloves? (ie 2 right handed gloves in a pack) :p

This is exactly what I’ve been thinking about as well. I’ve got a bag of “lefties” I’d like to trade for some more right-handed rubber gloves.

I need size small lefties. Would love to help a righty out there. This drives me crazy constantly being left with a right handed glove no matter how careful I think I am being. I have done the inside out thing as well but it is a bit uncomfortable!
