My own fault

24 Apr
I’m currently suffering from a bad haircut.  It’s my own fault, because my bangs were getting too long and I didn’t find the time to go to the salon and ended up "fixing" them myself.  And it wasn’t quite right, so I fixed them a bit more.  And just a bit more.  And finally I had to go in and get them fixed by a professional.  Of course, by that time, I’d taken a bit too much off, so now I just have to wait for it to grow out again.  And wear a headband in the meantime to hide the boxy way my hair now frames my face.
Bad Fawn.  Bad, bad, Fawn.

Well, Fawn, I\’ve never had the misfortune to have given myself a bad haircut, although I remember one time Mom tried on me when I was a kid and I had to go to see my uncle to get it fixed (he was a barber) and I do know that professionals absolutely hate fixing bad haircuts. Anyways, I may\’ve never botched up my own \’do, however, a few years ago someone showed me how to trim my brows and recommended I keep it up (in addition to the plucking I do). I thought it would be easy, seeing as I\’ve been doing them myself for years and\’ve had no problems with it. But I did the worst job ever, trying to make them even and wound up with virtually no eyebrows and had to fill them in with powder until they grew back properly – and have never bothered since… So that\’s my embarrassing story that I don\’t normally share with people! But then, you know, you\’re special…
Although it could be worse – years ago (as in decades), back when it was all the rage to completely shave/pluck your brows, only to DRAW THEM BACK ON (which makes no sense to me), one of my mom\’s aunts had hers waxed off. They never grew back and, to this day, she still has to draw them in. I saw her once, as a kid, without her eyebrows and it really creeped me out… 🙂

Haha!  Funny story about your aunt, Beanie!  I guess eyebrows don\’t seem so important until you suddenly don\’t have any…
