And the winner is…!

4 Sep

Thanks to everyone for your great response and your feedback on the delurking post! I had such a blast meeting everyone, including — hurray! — some first-time commenters who delurked. Learning about your reasons for reading the blog was great, and it helps me to know where to direct my energy when I’m thinking up posts.

So now is the moment to unveil the winner of the giveaway! Whee! What fun! Here’s the random number I got from

And the winner is… Stacie!

Stacie wins a copy of the tickle-your-ribs mockumentary, “A Mighty Wind” as well as a little something from Aroma Borealis, a local shop that specializes in making bath products, skin products, and herbal teas, all from herbs that grow right here in the Yukon. Congratulations to Stacie, and thanks for playing!  I’ll send this out to you after I get your contact info.  And, um, after I find that second copy of the movie…!

Well! Now that we’ve been introduced and the ice is broken, I hope to see all of you around lots more. Happy Thursday!

Whoops! Sorry Sleddog Stacie; I wasn’t sure if you’d been following along, since your laptop has been out of commission and you didn’t play along. (Not that I’m holding that against you, no, not at all. 😉 )

    Hi Fawn,

It’s been several days I haven’t been here.
Actually I was clicking on one of blogspot link to new post on the main page after I posted my own blog entry, just for fun, out of my habit and it turned out to be your blog. I come back again the next day and then that was when story about Jade started seizure. It made me come back sometime to check and hoping if your daughter is getting better.

I follow your stories and read your Michael’s blog entry posted in a link about friend is like tulips then I began reading your blog regularly.

I hope this made myself known to you and you will not feel worry about unknown person reading your blog.

It is great to know that Yukon is where you can see sunset at 12 am! I did not know that before and I love to see pictures of sunset at Yukon. Seem Yukon is a never land, so strange like reading a Peter Pan’s story. It seem so magical to me.

I hope I will be able to know more of magical Yukon and your stories in there.

Liliana, I really enjoy reading comments like yours. For many years the tourist slogan of the Territory was “The Magic & The Mystery”, and your comments make it clear that they should have kept it. It’s the magic and the mystery of this place that brought me here 23 years ago, and that keeps me here. You can feel the history, and the wilderness is overwhelming – many places have still never felt a human footprint. I hope that some day you get to experience it first-hand.
