2009 in review: the cop-out

31 Dec

With only 19 minutes left in 2009, there’s not much time left for an in-depth year-or-even-decade-in-review post that I’m much too lazy to write, anyway.  So instead I am copying and pasting the first sentence of the first post of each month in 2009.

  1. I never had any trouble in school when I was growing up.
  2. In my first two years of university, I met seven guys names Michael.
  3. Blogger is a great blogging platform, it really is.
  4. On Friday, we put Jade in her bed at 1:00 for her afternoon nap, same as usual.
  5. Today is the 11th, which means that my baby girl is now 6 months old.
  6. When the four of us got into Dr. Huh’s office on Monday, she asked us, “How was your trip?”
  7. Children should be seen and not heard, that’s what I always say.
  8. I had a lot of running around and packing to do this morning to make sure we had everything we needed to have a fun day out at Fox Lake.
  9. I was in the middle of preparing Jade’s dinner when the smell of menthol hit my nose.
  10. Oh, you are wonderful!
  11. Halia did something amazing last night.
  12. A woman I know who never wants to have children recently told me that the biggest reason she doesn’t want kids is because she wouldn’t be able to do her job properly anymore, and she knows that she would resent it.

Hmmm, from this I conclude: this must be a mom-blog.  Also, I need to start each month with more oomph from now on.

Oomph, I say?  That sounds dangerously like one of dem unrealistic new year’s resolutions.  Sorry, you’re stuck with me the way I am.

Edited on January 4th: Jen asked me to provide links for all the posts, something I was too lazy to do on New Year’s Eve.  In obliging the request, I realized that I accidentally chose the wrong sentence for the month of December.  I’m actually rather glad, since my “Blisters of motherhood” post is one of my favourites.  Thanks for the kick in the pants (again!), Jen!

I for one like you just the way you are – no need to oomphing up things!

For my part, no need for oomphing up things, either !!

Happy New Year to all 04 of you, Süße – hope everything that’s “worthy of improvement” will turn out allright, so things won’t be so tough anymore (but I’m glad there’s already been quite a bite of improvement this past year) …

    However – I’m thinking of you !!

Lots of Love from Germany !!

And I’m liking who you are, too!

My but that year went by fast! It was a measure of your oomph that I’m pretty sure I read everyone of those posts. You have ample ooomph.

    Hi Fawn,

Great to see you guys today. You left your baby chair. I’ll drop it by later.

Would you link your titles to your entries?

I’d love to click and review.
